Follow the steps below to remove the vertical green line in Geany version 0.18 (Ubuntu) window:
Run Geany, go to: Edit >> Preferences >> Editor >> Display
Select “Disabled” radio options below “Long line marker”. Hit “Apply” and “OK” button.
