Privacy Policy – Playground App

CrushEdge built the Playground app (com.crushedge.playground) as a free, ad-supported utility application for Android devices. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. It applies only to this mobile app and not to our website (crushedge.com), which has a separate privacy policy.

Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information directly (such as name, email address, phone number, or similar identifiers). All PDF files you select and merge are processed locally on your device using open-source libraries (PDFBox). We do not upload, store, transmit, or access your documents on any server.

However, the app uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. Google automatically collects the following data when ads are loaded or interacted with:

  • Device identifiers (such as Advertising ID, App Set ID, and other unique device IDs)
  • Approximate location (derived from your IP address)
  • Device information (model, manufacturer, OS version, language settings, carrier)
  • Ad-related data (ad requests, impressions, clicks, and interactions)
  • IP address and user agent string

How We Use Information

We do not collect, store, or use any user data ourselves. Google uses the collected information to:

  • Serve advertisements (contextual or personalized, depending on your device settings and consent choices)
  • Measure ad performance and effectiveness
  • Prevent ad fraud and abuse
  • Improve Google’s services

Data Sharing

Data collected through AdMob is shared with Google LLC and its affiliates or partners solely for advertising and related purposes. We do not share any data with other third parties.

User Choices & Rights

Personalized ads: You can opt out of personalized advertising or reset your Advertising ID at any time in your device Settings → Google → Ads.

Consent (for users in EEA/UK or similar regions): The app may display a consent form (via Google’s User Messaging Platform) allowing you to manage preferences for personalized ads.

Access, deletion, or questions: We do not hold personal data directly. For any inquiries, contact us here. Google provides tools to manage their collected data through your Google account settings.

Children’s Privacy

This app is not directed to children under 13 years of age (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has used the app and provided information, please contact us immediately.

Security

Any data sent to Google (e.g., ad requests) is transmitted using encryption (TLS/HTTPS). While we follow reasonable industry practices, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure.
